I have a pair of 6ft wooden gates operated using the BFT underground kit fitted below the hinge points of the gates. The control programmer unit is mounted in a weathrproof enclosure and the gates are held closed with a mag-lock unit. The set up works fine with but two queries:-

i) When the gates remote is operated, the mag-lock doesn't release quickly enough to prevent the first motor from opening the first gate leaf, which causes the gate to 'pull' on the lock until it relaease. I have reveiwed the programming manual but cannot see how to introduce a delay for the first motor to allow time for the mag-lock to release.
I am concerened that over time, this constant 'pulling' on the lock will weaken the motor bearing. Unfortunately the people who installed the gates have gone bust and are no longer in business and BFT Tech Support said they would only discuss fix with an authorised installer!
Any ideas?

ii) The BFT key fitted was the 418Mhz system to prevent problems with the house alarm and garge remote control systems, which operate at 433Mhz. The BFT square key fobs I have, one is cracked and both keyring clasps have broken. I know this frequency equipment is now unattainable but I only need the cases, so I can swap the controller insides over.
Can you advise where I could get cases? I only actually need the single button variant, as the second channel on my gate remote is unused.

Any advice would really be apprecaited as I need to get this resolved before I can sell the house!

I have a Chamberlain Liftmaster 300k actuator operating a single leaf gate. The control unit is a Liftmaster CB1 unit. All was working well when the unit stopped working. Inspection revealed that the motor start capacitor had burned out. I purchased a replacement unit of the same type and capacity and installed it. When I operated the gate it was slow to start. When it did start the settings were all wrong with the gate stopping halfway through the travel. I've tried resetting the gate position and retrying but the operation is no longer consistent in operation and sometimes fails to operate.

I've not tampered with the board settings as the setting were fine before the capacitor failed.

I'd be grateful for any advice from anyone who has experienced a similar problem. Alternatively does anyone know of a suitable maintenance company in the Stratford on Avon area in the UK Midlands.

Many thanks

Hi, just connecting a CB11 with the 1 set of cells supplied in the kit.
I am getting red flashing leds and the gate motors are turning but only one way?
I have the cells sat about 3 ft from the entrance (so if car is exiting drive and sat waiting, gates will stay open) and opposite each other.
The only other things currently connected are aerial / flashing beacon.
Can anyone advise on what my dipswitches should be set on and what i am doing wrong, the fault seems to be coming from the photocells is there anyway to check these ?
I have used CAT5 cable for the cells.
Or am i just not ding the set up procedure correctly ?

Any help much appreciated.
